Supporting artists and makers to success with business and practice…

During normal operation, we run a permanent gallery space, and showcases in various pop-up locations in the Lyme Bay area.

Many of us have been involved in Lyme Regis and elsewhere in running community arts ventures, but we now have some new volunteers bringing a fresh approach to our thinking and business. It’s going to be an exciting few months as we recover from COVID after a successful first year!

— Build membership

We invite local artists and makers to join us and take part in our venture, whatever their level of experience.

— Build confidence

We will help established artists to advance their practice, and support inexperienced people to develop a body of work and exhibit it confidently in a professional space.

— Exhibit work

We will develop a programme of affordable solo, duo and group showcases in selected local spaces, as well as venturing further afield.

— Educate

We will provide workshops and mentoring opportunities for business and artistic practice.

— Gain recognition

We want to become recognised as an important part of the local and regional arts scene.

— Collaborate

We will be working to develop links with other local and regional arts and community organisations in all disciplines.

Lyme Bay Arts is for artists and designer makers from the local area, in all visual disciplines, regardless of experience and ability. It is a non-profit Community Interest Company partly run by volunteers, on whose time and skills we rely to make things work.

We aim to provide temporary and permanent spaces for local artists to develop their work, meet their public, and exchange knowledge and resources. Our unique philosophy is to host short focused exhibitions in local towns and villages, curated by our core team and stewarded by the exhibitors.
