Yesterday saw the official opening of The Gallery at Symondsbury – we welcomed about 175 friends old and new on a bright and breezy afternoon.
Sir Philip and Lady Colfox attended at just after noon and Sir Philip opened the space with a speech about the importance of art to people and the landscape. His welcome was followed by contributions from Lyme Bay Arts directors Elizabeth Richie and Philip Clayton, who thanked everyone for their help in setting up the event, and introduced Andy Rollo, whose show is our inaugural exhibition in the completed gallery.
We hope our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and look forward to welcoming more people during the rest of the exhibition, which runs till 21st August. On Sunday 18th at 2pm, Andy will be giving a talk about his work to which all are welcome.
