During this unusual time, as isolation becomes more widespread and prolonged, and in recognition of the value of art and the creative process to people’s wellbeing, Lyme Bay Arts is reaching out to the whole community, whether they are artistic or not, with a project that will help them deal with the current situation.
The project involves making daily entries to a sketchbook or notebook (or a collection of pieces of paper to form a book either clipped or put in a folder) during your period of self-isolation. Your book or papers can be used in any way—to write in, draw, paste or paint, literally anything goes. The important thing is to do it daily (or when you can ) and fill the whole book.
The whole family could do a sketchbook each or combine their efforts into one book, and make it a family activity. It must be fun! And you do not have to be ‘artistic’ in any shape or form: stick men are acceptable!
The sketchbooks/ books can be of any size. Once the crisis is over, they will form part of a special exhibition in the Gallery at Symondsbury that will record people’s creativity over a very difficult time.
If you and your family would like to take part, please put these details in an email or text and send to me at the below addresses.
