We’re opening again on 4th July :-)

In line with the reopening of the Symondsbury Estate, we  are pleased to inform you that The Gallery will be opening on the 4th July from  10:30 – 4.30.

For July, we plan to be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. But, depending on circumstances, we hope eventually to open from Thursday to Monday, closing on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The current exhibition is INFOURMATION, which has been waiting patiently for visitors since the lockdown started! This showcase of recent work by four very different West Dorset artists — Michael Chappell, Tracy Linwood, Kathy Hallsworth and Charles Hallsworth — provides examples of each artist’s way of seeing and internalising the world around them. A chance to share the struggles, determination and humour required to produce each body of work.

This will be followed by Natural Forms, an open exhibition from 6th-3lst August, then Contemporary Crafts from 3rd-21st September. (If you want to take part in the open, you can download an application form here – PDF file.)

Please text or phone the Artistic Director Phil Clayton on 07809 831760 before travelling long distances, to make sure we are open. Also, call if you would like to make an appointment to view the exhibition outside of the normal times, although this will be dependent on the availability of staff. Please bear with us in these changing times!

We look forward to welcoming you back to a COVID-safe gallery space, where you will be able to see and experience original artwork again. There will be a limited stock of smaller items to enable us to operate safely. We’ll have social distancing measures and hand sanitisers in place, and we strongly recommend you follow the guidance to keep us all safe.
