Board of directors of Lyme Bay Arts CIC
Irene Benson LRPS
Director of finance
Irene has lived in the Lyme area for 35 years. Her work experience includes teaching, bookkeeping, administration, careers and sales & marketing.
She became part of Lyme Bay Arts because of her belief in its vision for a new artists’ venue, the enjoyment of working with a dedicated team and her passion for art, and particularly for photography.
Phil Clayton BA
Philip trained at Hornsey, The Cass and Central St. Martins’ and has headed several departments of Art and Design. He has exhibited widely both at home and abroad, and is well-known for his unique use of colour.
He paints in oils and prefers to work en plein air, dilapidated rural buildings being a favourite theme.
Philip combines his practice with running the Lyme Bay Arts galleries, mentoring, and is actively involved with the London Charity, Art for Youth.
Lois Wakeman BSc MISTC LRPS
Lois is an amateur potter and photographer, and a professional technical author and copywriter. She has been involved both behind the scenes at LBA (not least, taking minutes and report writing as company secretary!) and in the gallery as an exhibitor.
As a recent board member, she has responsibility for web, social media and member communications.
The newest member of the board, Andy has lived in Devon and Dorset for 30 years. He is a businessman with extensive management experience. He will bring a valuable and independent view to the board, and will be able to strengthen our business as it grows and develops.
Not forgetting …
The directors would like to thank the small army of volunteers and contractors who help with running the shop, exhibition setup, publicity, web and social media, admin, and of course the stewards without whom the galleries would not be open. We couldn’t do it without you!
